COURSE OVERVIEW

GWO Sea Survival (SS) provides the skills and knowledge to travel safely to and from offshore wind installations. Call us at to register for sea survival training classes or ask questions.


This training is designed to ensure participants understand survival procedures when working in and on wind turbines, with particular emphasis on travelling to and from offshore installations, and safely transferring between vessels and installations. This includes using various aids, rescue equipment and methods.


COURSE OBJECTIVES

Participants completing a GWO Sea Survival (SS) training course will be able to:

  • Work on offshore wind installations
  • Demonstrate sea survival techniques and safe transfer between vessels and installations
  • Use various aids/rescue equipment and methods


COURSE CONTENT

A GWO Sea Survival training course includes;

  1. Survival at sea
  2. Lifesaving appliances
  3. National and international legislation
  4. Life rafts
  5. Hypothermia


PREREQUISITES

In order to complete a GWO Sea Survival course, participants must be WINDA 

 registered before arriving for the course.


CERTIFICATE
GWO certificate – valid for 2 years

A good standard of general fitness is required – participants will complete a medical fitness questionnaire.
