Course Overview

Delegates will learn to perform GWO Manual Handling (MH) activities in aManual Handling (MH) safe manner in the wind industry. The course includes a combination of theoretical and practical training.

Course Objectives

Delegates completing a GWO Manual Handling (MH) training course will be able to;

  • Demonstrate correct manual handling techniques
  • Understand the risks involved in not using correct manual handling techniques

Course Content

A GWO Manual Handling training course includes;

  1. Overview of relevant legislation, standards & guidance
  2. Incident and injury reporting
  3. Outline of Manual Handling
  4. Spinal and shoulder anatomy and injuries associated with Manual Handling
  5. Equipment pre and post use checks, including certification of equipment
  6. Risk assessments and control measures
  7. Planning of operations
  8. Safe lifting techniques

Prerequisites

In order to complete a GWO Manual Handling course, delegates must:

  • Be WINDA registered before arriving for the course

GWO certificate – valid for 2 years
